New Aircraft Designs Boost Passenger Capability
When we think of aircraft design, we may think of sleek Boeings and Airbuses and new ways for first-class travelers to sleep peacefully during long-haul trips. However, most aircraft design is geared toward trying to get more people on a single plane without sacrificing too much comfort.
Aircraft Design Is Crucial
This is of huge importance to airline companies that are trying to deflect the ever-increasing cost of jet fuel and high-pitched competition from low-fare companies that are aggressive in how many passengers they'll squeeze into a typical jet.Aviation jobs across the board will be contending with these new designs. New planes like the Airbus 380 or the Boeing Dreamliner are leaving factories and, through state-of-the-art technology, provide room and capability unlike ever before. Aviation jobs are being created to handle these new planes and the service needed to man them.
Aviation Jobs and New Aircraft Designs
One of the great aircraft design innovations is seat size, or more precisely, seat weight. Designers are coming up with new ways to create economy class seats that are not as thick as the ones we know. A thinner seat means more seats per plane.Another, seemingly outlandish, proposal is standing-room-only seating. This is an aircraft design idea being floated by Airbus where passengers would fasten themselves to a cushioned wall instead of buckling into a seat. Airlines have politely declined the feature, but the idea shows where airline and aircraft companies are heading.
Mechanic Aviation Jobs Unchanged Maintenance aviation jobs will probably stay quite similar to what they are today, as the engineering in the new plane designs isn't that different.
What's happening inside the plane is another story.
